Thank you to all who suggested names! We chose Cassius Orion Belshe-Lord, and have been loving it! We've gotten a few folks asking about pronunciation. Cassius, for us, is CASH-us (not Cass-E-us, which we learned is the European way of pronouncing the name).

Some context on our names:

Denise's folks did not want names that would be shortened into nicknames, so they chose "Denise." Despite that, Denise has had many nicknames derived from her name, ranging from "Niece," "Niecee," and "Niser," to the (somehow more kid friendly) "Janeez."

Jackson's folks also did not want his name shortened, especially not to Jack (but they would have been okay with Jax.) He most often is referred to by his full given name (perhaps because he gets in trouble often?) or by his initials, "JD."

Ellis' name was chosen while Denise was changing into her hospital gown to be transported by ambulance from Estes. They had gone in for a follow up appointment and were told that they would be going home with a baby that day (4 weeks early)! She and Jackson had spent the weekend before finalizing their birthing plan instead of having the name conversation -- to which Jackson was sorely disappointed. So, they decided on a name in the bathroom in that moment. Since they didn't know the sex of the baby, they went with Ellis Anslo, figuring that it'd be great either way.

Following Ellis' birth, we learned why hyphens are important for double last names. Apparently, without it, people often just drop one name or the other. Ellis is now officially a Belshe-Lord. His younger sibling will follow that trend.

The cat's named Percy. She sometimes is called "Persiphous" and "Perseid." Denise now calls her by her full name "Cat Get Away From Me/My Glass."
